The Roman Posterngate will open for the public on June 13 of this year at Saltergate, Lincoln.
The Posterngate is of Roman time origin as it was a gateway used during the invasion of the Romans in Britain centuries ago. The said gateway is made of royal limestone and was used as part of the southern wall in the old city of Lincoln. The Posterngate was excavated in the year 1970.
Thus, the event this coming 13th of the month is an opening showcasing a reconstruction of a part of the Roman fort as well as a display of the excavation finds.
The entrance will be at Saltergate. The opening will start at 10 in the morning and will cost £1, in which tours will last for 30 minutes.
